The years go by so fast!

I just logged on to my website and saw that the last post was from 2019. 2019! Just before the world changed, right?

You could be forgiven for thinking that I have been relatively inactive for the past 4 years.. it certainly looked that way according to this website. Thankfully, that has not been the case.

During the past few years I have remained busy helping to curate Art House Nashville (www.arthousenashville.com), I was a Director of Music and Liturgy at a church in Nashville for a few years, and I continue to speak on behalf of children in the developing world for Compassion (www.compassion.com).

It has been a full three years, and I am only now starting to catch my breath. New plans are afoot. New music, new writings, new travels… but I type this with hesitancy, after all “many plans are in a person’s heart, but the Lord’s decree will prevail”(Proverbs 19:21). Or perhaps this more sobering thought from the book of James, chapter 4: “Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will travel to such and such a city and spend a year there and do business and make a profit.” Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring—what your life will be! For you are like vapor that appears for a little while, then vanishes.” It is no small thing to be able to distinguish the temporary from the eternal!

I admit I have some hopes for this coming year, but my biggest hope is that I continue to hold on to the One who knows the future, regardless of what that future looks like. And I’ll try and share more of that journey, so that it isn’t another 3 years before you hear from me again!
